Owner, Dr. Christopher Young, has been in practice since 1983, and hails not only with decades of experience and knowledge, but gentleness and humility. His daughter, Dr. Stephanie Young-Niemeyer, works alongside him to provide the highest level of care and comfort to their dental patients. Our practice has other associate dentists who are well loved by their patients.
We are proud to provide our patients with some of the latest and most innovative dental technology, after-hour follow-up and attentive pre and post calls. Dr. Young is loved fondly by his patients for his one-of-a-kind personality, as well as his kind and gentle ways. This genuine, down-to-earth dentist has been in practice for almost 40 years. He consistently invests in the latest technology, in order to serve his patients in the best possible way. The first dentist in the region to secure a dental laser in the early 2000s, Dr. Young continues to research and upgrade the necessary tools and equipment needed to treat his patients with ease and expertise. Dr. Young’s portfolio proudly includes patients who first came to him in their adolescence, now visiting the practice with their children and even their grandchildren!
Dr. Young was the recipient of a full scholarship from the Government of Trinidad and Tobago in 1978. After getting married to his wife Michelle in 1979, he studied at Leeds University in the United Kingdom and returned to his homeland in 1983, where he worked throughout the country in the public health system. He then started his private practice on French St. in Woodbrook, Port-of-Spain, later moving to Roberts Street and also Fitt Street – both in Woodbrook – as the practice grew.
In 2013, Dr. Young moved the practice to its current state-of-the-art location on Ana Street, in Woodbrook, where his daughter joined the practice in 2016. He is a proud father of 3 beautiful children, all married, and 10 grandchildren.

‘Dr.Steph’ – as she is lovingly referred to by her patients – is thrilled to be working alongside her father at the practice. They make a dynamic team and are excited to be experiencing the building and continuation of a generational legacy. Dr. Stephanie decided to go one step further after completing her DDS degree and pursued Aesthetic Medicine by furthering her studies in the University of Southern Wales (UK) and completed the PGDip in Aesthetic Medicine. This exciting emerging field has allowed her to do both dentistry and facial aesthetics.
Dr. Stephanie also has a wealth of experience in dealing with fearful patients as she has a first degree in Psychology. “Understanding people is my passion. Seeing a patient become relaxed in my chair and become a regular attender after overcoming their fear, is my most rewarding outcome.”
On working with her father at the practice:
I am honoured to work with my amazing dad, who continues to outwork me; he is a force to be reckoned with! I have very big shoes to fill and I will work hard to make him proud and carry on the legacy. Just keep showing up is our family motto. Our proudest moments are when we see 2 or 3 generations of a family. Dr. Young will usually see the grandparents and their children and usually Dr Steph will see the grandchildren. There is nothing more rewarding than to know that the generations are coming to be seen by our generations. This is legacy and this is what it’s all about. Dr. Young is so proud of his daughter, and Dr. Steph is so proud of her dad.
